Homemade hot chocolate is super simple to make and tastes so good after playing outside in the snow.

It’s warm. It’s cozy. And it’s creamy. It is simply one of the best drinks to enjoy in the winter. Whether you just came in from outside and you are cold or you are relaxing after a busy winter day, there is nothing like wrapping your hands around a warm mug of hot chocolate.
Toss the Premade Mix Aside
Traditional mixes are filled with ingredients like hydrogenated coconut oil and corn syrup. When you make it yourself, not only is the taste superior, but the ingredients are superior. You can sip on it knowing exactly what is in it.
Step Into the Kitchen With Us to Make Hot Chocolate
“I’m Cold Mom, Make Some Hot Chocolate?”
My two-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoys making hot chocolate. It has become our tradition to make a fresh batch after playing in the snow. Well, we have snow here all winter long so it is essentially a weekly occurrence and a daily request. She will even ask sometimes after just walking in from the car.

Needless to say, this recipe is kid-approved. Plus, this is a recipe where they can easily help you make it! Shelby can just about make this herself aside from pouring the milk and turning on the stovetop. I love having her involved in the kitchen and seeing her excitement about what we are making.
